Just Say NO to FirePox!
The Mothzilla people have brought FirePox 3 out of it’s beta cocoon after oh so long! Millions download it in the first few hours! What’s the very first thing that happens to it? It’s hacked! Well so much for SBS “Standards Based Software”!

THE PROBLEM WITH SBS!

In a nice fantasy world where every one loves each other, where pixies fly, where we all just share and get along, SBS rules. BUT, we don’t live there! The Open-sourcers, SBS crowd, moonies, lunnies, iTards, Alien-Mothershipers and Linux people will just have to face the truth one day!

THE TRUTH: Hackers love “open” standards! Everyone can have this stuff, it’s free, free to have and free to manipulate, free to corrupt!

What the world really needs is proprietary systems and software and standards! The kind of stuff that a hacker will have to take years trying to figure out the source to! Then when they do get close we change it all up on them, frustrate them, force everybody to upgrade or be left behind! Every company will have their own way of doing things as they see fit! Isn’t that really what true freedom is all about? Doing things your way! Not being told by others that you have to “share”, to play well with others, to make the intellectual property which you have slaved over “open and accessible” to anybody who comes along!

C’mon people! If you want to see MY pictures, shouldn’t you have to user MY viewer? Isn’t that truly basic fairness, equity and just plain decency? What’s mine is mine and what’s yours is yours! It’s only “ours” if you pay for it!

All of these freeloaders are really getting on my nerves! I prefer to pay my way! I like buying or renting, not living in some God-forsaken “free and open” hell hole with no doors or windows!

De seguro q para la version 4 se duplica el nro. Ahora queda esperar q algunos addons se actualicen.

Por cierto la unica extension que no he podido conseguir es la de “speak it”, una text to speech engine, que no se actualiza desde hace un año, si alguien sabe alguna similar que funcione en FF3 que me avise porfitas

Aparte de que si se rompio el record, he notado que en muchos blogs se ha hablado de la decepción que ha sido para muchos FF3. Al ser este uno de los blogs mas leidos en la red segun alexa me gustaria contarles mi experiencia:

Cuando por fin lo logre bajar me lleve la desagradable sorepresa que solo 3 de mis 15 extensiones seguian funcionando (tal como en los anteriores RCs), no note mejoraz importantes de primera mano; factores como la velocidad, compatibilidad con sitios web, etc, seguian practicamente igual.

Sin embargo con paciencia no me deje llevar por el desanimo y empeze la tarea de reconstruir esta nueva version a como tenia la anterior: empeze sustituir extensiones por otras, y me lleve agradables sorpresas como “Personal Menu”, que reemplazo de jalon a 4 antiguas y descontinuadas extensiones, encontre una muy novedosa y util para mi,diseñada especialmente l para FF3 “Hyperwords”.

Poco a poco algunas otras extensiones se han ido actualizando en el transcurso del dia, como “yoono”. En conclusion, no deje a mi FF3 como su predecesor, sino que lo mejore y por mucho. Vale la pena actualizarse?, por supuesto que si!, y cuanto antes mejor ya veran que no se arrepentiran.

Yo conosco muchas personas metidas todo el día en internet que no saben que cosa es FF u Opera y creen que IE es el unico navegador, ay que ser un poco más curiosos y no nolo entrar al messenger.
Mi navegador favorito es por cierto el Opera, FF lo tengo como segundo y el IE practicamente ni existe en mi pc.

Bueno hype si abunda, pero el navegador compensa todo lo que se dice y más, de seguro tiene algunos detalles, pero hasta ahora no me ha dado problemas.Saludos!

Con esto del “download day” Firefox se ha convertido en puro hype. Sames que algo está mal cuando la gente quiere hacer fiesta mundial cada vez que Mozilla dice “Firefox 3″ :S.
